Radiation oncologist

Dr. I-Chow Hsu, who goes by Joe, is a radiation oncologist with expertise in brachytherapy, a form of radiation therapy in which the source of radiation is placed inside the body to directly target a cancer site. (This treatment is often used for prostate cancer that has not spread beyond the gland.)

Hsu has special research interests in using brachytherapy and hyperthermia (killing cancer cells through exposure to high temperatures) to treat cancers of the genital and urinary organs, as well as gynecologic cancers.

Hsu earned his medical degree at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He completed a residency in radiation oncology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and Columbia University.

Hsu is a fellow of the American College of Radiology and American Society for Radiation Oncology. He is an active member of numerous professional societies, including the American Society for Radiation Oncology, American Brachytherapy Society and Society for Thermal Medicine. He chairs the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group's committee on brachytherapy.

    The care provider is an excellent communicator. He listen to my concerns he gave me answers that was easily understood. The provider gave me all the pros and cons of each treatment and they were really easy to understand and very detailed. I don't think he left anything out and I appreciate that and I would certainly recommend this provider to any and all that I know.. Dr. Hsu was very professional and courteous at the same time and very much aware of my concerns and he address each and everyone to my satisfaction. Thank you for having personnel like him.

    But difficulty understanding via interpreter ( she kinda of trembling after realizing its all about male stuff. And I withheld some more information because she's a female due to embarrassment

    I was having a hard time at UC Hospital I'm getting help I feel I feel like they delayed a lot of things when it came to me and I felt comfortable at this appointment that I had at UC I have family members that work at UC and my sister you guys helped her a lot in her life and I just feel comfortable and I felt comfortable at this appointment and I am trying to switch all my appointments to you see Hospital I don't know what Mark Zuckerberg is doing but when it came to me personally I felt like they really did not care

    What the future holds for my condition is anyone's guess at this point. It is a wait and see situation for both me and the doctor. More tests must be done.
