Dr. Jason H. Pomerantz is a plastic surgeon who specializes in pediatric plastic and reconstructive surgery, including the treatment of craniofacial anomalies (abnormalities of the head and face). He cares for adults as well as children with congenital or acquired deformities, such as cleft lip and palate, craniosynostosis (a birth defect involving skull bones) and facial injuries.

In his research, Pomerantz focuses on tissue regeneration and maintenance by stem cells, with the goal of optimizing tissue repair and correcting deformities associated with development, injury or disease.

Pomerantz earned his medical degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed a residency in plastic surgery at UCSF, a postdoctoral research fellowship in regeneration biology at Stanford University and a fellowship in craniofacial surgery at the University of Washington.

    Even though I was late to the appointment because I got lost and was not from the area they still saw me quickly after I arrived. I think they appreciate that we travel over 3 hours for these visits in person. Receptionist brought me water and snacks. Very kind staff.

    My experience in this department is what would cause me to leave UCSF without a good thoughts about it. This is my breaking point I can't get my healthcare address here.

    The only thing that was a little bothersome was that her procedure was an hour and a half late, and nobody ever came into our little room to tell us what was going on. The mom had to go out into the hallway and ask the nurse, at the desk, and I just think that somebody should have come in sooner to let us know what was going on. We were getting a little anxious. Thank you.

    The 5th floor needs better markings and directories to locate where the different departments are located. A competent facility manager could have this issue resolved very promptly. Multiple patients complain about this. Make the necessary changes happen.
